I am an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science, specializing in Biomechanics, dedicated to advancing research and enhancing outcomes in musculoskeletal health. I hold a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Kaohsiung Medical University (Taiwan), an M.S. in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My academic journey includes valuable postdoctoral training at Northeastern University.
My research focuses on unravelling the mechanisms of disability in aging adults with musculoskeletal injuries, particularly osteoarthritis (OA). My primary objective is to develop effective intervention strategies to improve physical function and increase physical activity among OA patients, to decrease disease burden, and to enhance their quality of life through interdisciplinary research approaches.
In addition to my scholarly pursuits, I am an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, utilizing my expertise to promote health and wellness across diverse populations.
Beyond academia, I maintain an active lifestyle, enjoying a variety of workouts and excelling in Kendo (Japanese fencing), where I hold a black belt 5th degree and compete at the national level. My commitment to academic excellence, physical fitness, and martial arts exemplifies my holistic approach to personal and professional endeavours.
